Dear Those Who Actually Use Tumblr,
It has been a while. It really has. I might haphazardly post a photo here every now and then, but I have not posted any new content (e.i. to Flickr) in a long time, and that is arguably unacceptable.
I used to see Flickr as a sort of ritual. I would post almost daily and peruse people’s photos constantly; I would visit the site almost out of habit. But things have changed.
It is not that I have lost my love for photography. I still take pictures and I still find pleasure in it. I just don’t feel that same necessity to post as I once did. I don’t feel that same nagging desire for feedback, for criticism, or praise.
As we move toward the winter months, I feel like I will have more time and energy to post my photos. What else can I do? Biking and hiking will be minimal and time outside will be more difficult to attain.
I want to catch up, on Flickr, and here on Tumblr. I feel like there is a great community and I want to be involved.
I also want to be photographically productive in the upcoming months. I hope to keep taking photos and I would like to upload the best content in a more timely way.
This is my first true blog post. Who knows who will read this or if these words carry any weight, but I needed to write this.
I have had some time off, but now I am ready. I hope everyone is well, healthy, productive, and happy. I look forward to catching up.
